Elegance • Beauty • Comfort
Charmaine is one of those rare people who excels at anything she puts her mind to. At a very early age, she discovered that she had a gift for combining textures and materials with an innate designer’s skill and expertise. Her intuitive yet practical side helps her visualize her projects well before the job began and drives her to complete projects easily and efficiently.
She has a natural talent for handling details, and bringing out the best in the teams she works with, creating the “wow” factor that she is known for.
Charmaine designs timelessly elegant interiors that intuitively reflect the owner’s own unique personality and lifestyle. Her patience and listening skills bring harmony in the midst of the changing environment on the job, which is why contractors love working with her.
With 30 years in the construction field, Charmaine has the skill and knowledge to manage both design and the building phases, saving her clients thousands of dollars in contractor’s fees. Paint color, fabrics, furnishings, window treatments and accessories are selected based on the personal feedback from her discovery sessions, removing the stress around the decision making process. Coordinating all the details and updating site plans, allows the process to run smoothly from design through to completion, providing a sense of certainty to her clients.
Awards: Charmaine won “Best Modern Commercial Renovation” by Royal City Builder’s Awards 2013 in New Westminster, BC.
Experience: Charmaine started out building houses, designing cabinets, and working in the insurance business, providing flood and fire restoration. She holds her diploma in Interior Design and has managed a 250 lot subdivision, building 25 homes at once and closing 12-15 homes per month. An active personal and interpersonal problem solver, she is a highly skilled negotiator and facilitator, bringing clarity and comfort to her clients.
The only child of a Renovator, building was part of her daily life, as a young teenager she pitched in and renovate houses until she entered design school. Designing renovations and interior design has coupled the two passions in Georgia’s life, working closely with people and her love for creativity through the details. It was this love of the details that led her to drawing through Cad fifteen years ago.
The detailed Cad drawings that are provided by Charmaine Lang Interiors are an invaluable resource for the building process and for the clients seeing the project as it progresses and taking away any guess work of what the end result will look like. “Most people are visual, through CAD we can give them certainty of what the interior of their home will look like, how the furniture will work, where the lighting will be etc, it gives them comfort ahead of the renovation starting or building breaking ground. I love being able to draw that for them and seeing their face as they see their home and our design become real to them.”
Georgia moved to British Columbia seven years ago leaving the snow in Ontario and a position at a lucrative Design house behind and was drawn to Charmaine Lang Interiors because of a similar viewpoint of design, love of people and strong ethics, something she had found rare.
“Our greatest joy is when our client is not only thrilled with the design but that it reflects their life and their family’s personality-not ours, that’s when we know we have listened to what they have said and to what they haven’t been able to express, that’s great design.” – Georgia Fontaine
